PRESENTATION OPTIONS
- Oral: an opportunity is provided for you to present your work to participants during a concurrent session. Please note that each presenter will be limited to a maximum of 2 concurrent session in the program
- Poster: an opportunity is provided for you to engage with participants for discussion and debate during the relaxed atmosphere of the evening welcome reception. Posters will remain on display for the remainder of the conference.
ABSTRACT SUBMISSION GUIDELINES
You must:
• Provide details of the submitting author and details of each abstract (abstract title, authors and author affiliations and preferred presentation type). The presenting author must be indicated with an asterisk.
• Ensure your abstract contains objective(s), statement of findings and key conclusions
• Thoroughly check your abstract for spelling and grammar errors before submission
• Upload your abstract (as a Microsoft Word document) from your computer.
• Indicate your preference for presentation style (oral, poster or either)
• Include a short biographical paragraph (up to 80 words) of the presenting author. This information will be used by the session chair for introduction purposes or may also be published in meeting literature.
• Include 3 critical questions your presentation will address, 3 intended learning outcomes and up to 3 references for further reading on the subject of your presentation
Please note:
• English is the official meeting language.
• The word limit is 250 words maximum. The 3 critical questions and 3 intended learning outcomes are not included in the 250 word limit.
• Abstracts can only be submitted online in Microsoft Word format only. You must save the document with the extension ".doc" or ".docx" (Word default).
• Please note that selecting your presentation type (oral, poster or either) is a preference only.
• Acceptance of abstracts is at the discretion of the abstract review committee.
Submission confirmation, personal access key and speaker zone
Once you have submitted your abstract, you will receive an email containing your personal access key. This access key can be used to enter the 'speaker zone' at www.enhancingpractice12.com.au

• Check your submitted abstract to ensure it has converted successfully to PDF format
• Change your demographic details or your abstract title, theme, authors, critical questions etc.
• Replace a current abstract with a revised copy (if required)
• Upload additional abstract submissions (if required)
• Register for the conference (when available)
• Change your access key/password to something more memorable (if required)
Please note: You will not be able to update your abstract, replace a current abstract or upload additional abstracts once the submission deadline has passed on the 13 April 2012.

Abstract selection criteria
All abstracts will be peer-reviewed by specialists in the field. Although authors must indicate their preferred form of communication (oral or poster) the type of presentation offered is at the discretion of the abstract review committee. The decision of the committee is final and no correspondence will be entered into.
Selection criteria will include:
• Originality and interest
• Potential for significance for the field
• Adds to the current state of knowledge
• Advancing Nursing Practice
• Abstract structure and clarity
Notification of acceptance
Authors will be notified of abstract acceptance or otherwise in mid May 2012. Guidelines will be sent to poster presenters to assist them in preparing their poster.
Registration
Please note that all presenters must pay to register for the conference by 29 June 2012. Registration payment not received by this date will result in presenters being withdrawn from the program. Successful abstracts will be published and distributed electronically to all delegates at the conference.
